COMES FIRST

Mayimba Music won industry accolades at ASCAP as Latin Indie-Publisher honors in 2013, 2014, and 2015 and Billboard Latin Indie Publisher of The Year awards in 2015 and 2016.

We strive to go far beyond the industry standard. Here you'll find that you and your music come first.

Marti Cuevas

President

Marti Cuevas founded Mayimba Music in 1999.  Having moved to the Big Apple a decade prior with her saxophone and a quest for musical growth, the realities of two young children in tow led Marti in search of a “straight job.”   First landing in the offices of legendary music attorney, William Krasilovsky, Marti went on to helm J & N Publishing/J & N Records Business Affairs department, work with legendary artists such as Aventura, Romeo Santos, and ultimately, develop Mayimba Music.

While witnessing the seismic changes in the mysterious and unpredictable music industry, Marti’s love of the music business, copyright law and the magic of songwriting has not dimmed.  Music is Mayimba’s DNA.  At present, Marti sits on the Board of Directors at the NMPA and ASCAP.
